A powerful new vision for prosperity is sweeping across the Bukedi Sub-region as influential leaders step forward to champion a life-changing shift in local agriculture. On a recent Sunday, the Woman Member of Parliament for Pallisa District, Catherine Achola, joined forces with Fredrick Angura, the Member of Parliament for Tororo South County, to deliver an urgent and inspiring message to their constituents. Together, they are calling on every household to move beyond traditional farming and secure their financial future by planting coffee and cocoa.
The message from these leaders is clear: the path to ending poverty and achieving true financial independence lies in the soil, but only if residents choose crops that command high prices on the global market. By transitioning to coffee and cocoa, families in Bukedi have the unique opportunity to transform their small plots of land into sustainable engines of wealth. These crops are not just plants; they are long-term investments that can pay for education, healthcare, and modern housing for generations to come.
During their outreach, the Members of Parliament emphasized that the time for waiting is over. They urged residents to stop settling for crops that barely provide enough to eat and instead embrace commercial farming that brings actual cash into the home. Coffee and cocoa are known for their resilience and high demand, making them the perfect candidates to lift the entire sub-region out of economic stagnation.
This call to action is about more than just farming; it is about a total mindset shift. Achola and Angura are rallying the community to take charge of their own destinies and utilize the fertile lands of Bukedi to their fullest potential. By answering this call, residents can ensure that their children grow up in a region defined by abundance rather than struggle. The leaders are committed to seeing a Bukedi where every farmer is a successful entrepreneur, and they believe that the journey to that bright future starts with a single coffee or cocoa seedling.
