Uganda’s Ambassador to France, Doreen Amule, is working harder than ever to introduce Uganda’s amazing tourism and rich culture to the world. She recently brought a group of visitors from Europe to special places like the ‘Centre of Uganda’ in Amolatar District and the historical Kangai site in Dokolo District.
Ambassador Amule, who was joined by friends from France and Spain, proudly called Ugandans ‘happy people.’ She encouraged her European guests to share Uganda’s story with the world. Amule explained that an ambassador’s job isn’t just about representing the country, but also actively showcasing its beautiful tourist spots, unique culture, and opportunities for investment. She pointed out that the Ugandan government supports her work in Paris specifically to bring these benefits back home.
One of her European companions had specifically asked to visit Uganda firsthand, wanting to experience the country before telling others about it. Amule highlighted places like the Ndere Cultural Centre as examples of Uganda’s rich offerings she promotes overseas. She firmly believes Uganda’s diverse attractions truly earn it the title, ‘Pearl of Africa.’
Amule is hopeful that the government and local communities will work together to turn the ‘Centre of Uganda’ into a major tourist hotspot. The European visitors experienced a warm Ugandan welcome upon their arrival, greeted with lively traditional Lango songs and dances, and tasted local treats like millet porridge.
