The dramatic rescue unfolded in the early hours of the morning at Apac Pride Nursery and Primary School. A dedicated school watchman, Eling Brian, heard persistent crying coming from the toilet area around 3:00 am. His quick thinking led him to suspect a child was in distress, prompting him to immediately alert the police.
Police officers from Apac swiftly arrived at the scene and confirmed the heartbreaking presence of an infant trapped inside the latrine. A specialized fire and rescue team was called in, and through a coordinated effort, they successfully pulled the baby alive from the depths of the pit.
The little girl, estimated to be about eight months old, was immediately rushed to Apac Main Hospital. She is currently receiving medical care and is stable.
