President Museveni’s Deep Commitment to Alebtong: How Strategic Investments in Education, Entrepreneurship, and Agriculture Are Transforming the District for a Brighter Future

President Museveni shows immense dedication to Alebtong District, pouring significant support into its future. A key area of this focus is education. The district’s 13 public secondary schools regularly receive an average of Sh20 million each per term, ensuring students have the resources they need to learn and grow, following government guidelines.

Beyond traditional schooling, President Museveni is committed to helping people earn a living. Through the Emyooga program, Alebtong has seen Sh2.3 billion loaned to 26 different savings and credit cooperatives (SACCOs). This money empowers local entrepreneurs like welders, carpenters, and salon owners, helping them build successful small businesses.

It is clear that President Museveni truly wants Alebtong to thrive economically. He believes in using new ideas and practical skills to create a strong, knowledge-based economy for the district.

To achieve this, the government provides Sh672 million each year to Alebtong’s two public technical institutes. These institutes, Abia War Memorial Technical Institute and Amugu Agro Technical Institute, are vital for training many young people in practical skills like vehicle mechanics, fashion design, architecture, and agriculture, preparing them for jobs.

The President also champions advanced agriculture. Inspired by his vision, Alebtong farmers have received 200,000 free coffee seedlings. This initiative aims to help them profit from high coffee prices. Looking ahead, the focus will shift to educating farmers about growing cocoa, opening up even more opportunities for commercial success. This shows a continuous effort to boost the district’s economy and ensure a prosperous future.
