KAMPALA – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Prof. Jack H. Pen-Mogi Nyeko as the Chancellor of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). The appointment, made on October 17, 2025, is for a period of four years effective from the date of assumption of duty.
The appointment was made in accordance with section 30(1) of the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, acting on the recommendation of the University Council. The Instrument of Appointment, signed by President Museveni, affirms the President’s authority in making such appointments.
Prof. Jack H. Pen-Mogi Nyeko’s appointment as Chancellor of MUST is expected to further strengthen the university’s mission of advancing science, technology, and innovation in Uganda. MUST is a leading public university in southwestern Uganda, known for its academic excellence and community engagement.
Campus Media House, has learnt that the appointment comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance governance and leadership in Uganda’s higher education institutions.
