Joseph Jones Ogwal Omara has emerged victorious in the hotly contested NRM primaries for Dokolo North constituency, unseating the incumbent MP, Moses Ogwal Goli.
According to official results, Ogwal Omara secured 5,964 votes, surpassing Goli who garnered 4,915 votes. Other contenders included Ogwal Kasimiro with 4,503 votes and Alfred Junior Okello with 2,144 votes.
The election was declared free, fair, and peaceful by the NRM District Returning Officer, who confirmed full adherence to party guidelines and no reported irregularities.
Ogwal Omara, known for his strong grassroots connections and leadership vision, thanked the voters for their trust and pledged to focus on unity, inclusive development, and improved service delivery for Dokolo North.
Meanwhile, in other parts of the district, Felix Okot Ogong retained his position as the NRM flag bearer for Dokolo South, and Adongo Janet Okello was confirmed for the District Woman MP seat.
These primaries are part of the party’s broader preparations for Uganda’s 2026 general elections.
