Massive Turnout as Bobi Wine Storms Kira Municipality to Ignite 2026 Campaign Momentum

Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, widely known as Bobi Wine, drew huge crowds on Monday as he kicked off an energetic campaign tour in Kira Municipality ahead of the 2026 general elections. Supporters lined the roads, waving and cheering as the National Unity Platform presidential candidate delivered his message of change and called on residents to rally behind his bid for the country’s top office.

The Leader of the Opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi, led a strong team of NUP leaders who spent the day mobilising voters and strengthening support for Kyagulanyi in one of the most politically active constituencies in the country. The team moved through different parts of Kira Municipality, making several stopovers where Kyagulanyi addressed enthusiastic crowds.

During his tour, Kyagulanyi also urged voters to back George Musisi, the NUP flag bearer seeking the parliamentary seat for Kira Municipality. Musisi is among the party’s strongest contenders in the race for Parliament, and Kyagulanyi appealed to residents to elect leaders who represent their hopes for better governance.

The day’s activities started at Kyagulanyi’s home in Magere, where hundreds gathered to walk with him as he launched the tour. From there, the team proceeded through various communities before heading towards Bweyogerere and later Kasangati for more engagements.

According to NUP officials, the Kira Municipality visit is part of a larger nationwide mobilisation drive designed to solidify support for both presidential and parliamentary candidates ahead of the 2026 elections. The party plans similar outreach activities across the country in the coming weeks as the campaign season intensifies.
