Almost ten years after leaving school, the Lira Town College Class of 2016 recently held an important meeting. This wasn’t just a simple get-together; it was a powerful gathering aimed at giving back to their old school and planning for a brighter future.
The alumni shared exciting ideas, like setting up mentorship programs for current students and improving the school’s buildings. More than just discussing projects, they reconnected, strengthened their friendships, and made a firm promise to build a strong alumni association.
Mr. Opio Haron Justine, the association’s President, urged everyone to stay involved. He highlighted how a strong alumni network can open doors for members, helping them find jobs, access markets, and support each other during tough times. Many members are now in a stage of life where they are building careers and families, making this support even more valuable. He also stressed the importance of discipline and working together to make their registered association truly stand out.
Vice President Sharon Aciro called on members to actively contribute, both financially and by attending meetings regularly. She emphasized that everyone’s contributions are vital for funding charity efforts and important projects.
Emmanuel Angoda, the association’s Patron, praised the Class of 2016 for their initiative. He noted that while Lira Town College has many alumni groups, this particular class is showing remarkable drive and is set to achieve great things. He encouraged them to seek out partners and gather resources to make their projects a reality.
The Lira Town College Class of 2016 is a non-profit group of former students who graduated in 2016.
