Kaberamaido, Uganda, is embarking on a focused mission to dramatically improve how crucial farming and fishing programs reach its citizens. A strong call has been made for all government departments to work together seamlessly, ensuring these vital initiatives truly make a difference in people’s lives and boost their livelihoods.
This important push came during a recent meeting led by Deputy District Commissioner Kisenene Hood. The gathering brought together key officials from agriculture, production, and fisheries departments. They openly discussed how government programs are progressing, the hurdles they face, and the best ways to overcome them.
During the discussions, the District Production Officer, Agaja Joseph, shared updates on farming activities, including the distribution of essential tools and seeds, and how the Parish Development Model is helping families earn more. The District Agricultural Officer highlighted the importance of teaching farmers new skills and knowledge to grow more food. Additionally, the District Fisheries Officer reported on efforts to support fishing communities and manage local fish resources responsibly.
Commissioner Kisenene emphasized that for government programs to truly succeed and benefit the community, everyone involved β from technical experts to local leaders and the people themselves β must collaborate closely. He stressed the importance of making sure that every resource reaches its intended beneficiaries. He also urged departments to be transparent, provide regular updates on their work, and quickly resolve any issues that might slow down progress.
This proactive stance by Kaberamaido’s leadership is a clear commitment to ensure that public funds are used effectively. The goal is to achieve significant, lasting improvements in agriculture and fisheries, ultimately building a more prosperous and sustainable future for all residents in the district.
