Joseph Jones Ogwal has officially taken his place as the Member of Parliament for Dokolo North County, stepping into his new role with a strong promise to tackle two of the area’s most pressing issues: crumbling roads and inadequate healthcare.
Upon being sworn in, Ogwal highlighted the urgent need to fix Dokolo North’s road network. He explained that many local roads are currently impassable, making it difficult for people to travel and seriously hindering local businesses. Improving these vital connections will be a top priority for his term.
Equally critical, according to Ogwal, is the state of healthcare. He pointed out that Dokolo North County currently lacks a Health Centre IV, a key facility needed to provide comprehensive medical services. He is optimistic that by working closely with the government and other important partners, his tenure will bring significant improvements to health facilities, ensuring better care for everyone.
Ogwal expressed deep gratitude to God, the voters of Dokolo North, and his campaign team for their unwavering support, stating that their shared vision for a better future has now begun. He committed to an open and accountable leadership style.
He plans to stay connected with the people he represents, regularly updating residents on government initiatives, ongoing projects, and the progress made under his guidance. Furthermore, Ogwal intends to build an inclusive leadership approach, consulting with former political figures, religious leaders, and various community members to ensure development benefits all of Dokolo District. He promised to frequently return to the constituency to report on achievements, discuss pending matters, and explain the overall progress of his leadership, ensuring he remains accountable to the community.
