Justice Forum (JEEMA) has reacted to presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi’s advice to voters in Bugiri Municipality to consider replacing incumbent MP and JEEMA party president Hon. Asuman Basalirwa. Kyagulanyi cited alleged betrayal of the People Power cause as the reason for this advice.
In a press release dated October 7, 2025, JEEMA expressed concern over the inconsistencies in Kyagulanyi’s stance, especially at a time when Ugandans expect a united opposition front. The party stated it won’t engage in tit-for-tat exchanges but instead trusts Ugandans to make informed decisions.
JEEMA finds it contradictory for Kyagulanyi to praise and endorse regime members like Hon. Rebecca Kadaga while calling for the replacement of an opposition leader. The party referenced the 2021 Koboko County elections where JEEMA supported Hon. Dr. Francis Ayume of NRM, questioning if endorsing Hon. Kadaga of NRM would deliver Busoga to opposition or undermine Hon. Basalirwa.
JEEMA urges opposition forces to stay united and avoid external distractions. The party appreciates the support Ugandans have given their candidates and thanks Bugiri Municipality voters for their commitment to Hon. Basalirwa. The statement was signed by Party Spokesman Dr. Swalb Kaggwa Nsereko.
