Today, 14th-Nov – Gulu University is abuzz with the official launch of the Anti-Sexual Harassment Awareness Campaign, themed “Break the Silence, End the Violence.” This significant event kicks off the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, spearheaded by the 24th Guild Government in collaboration with the Ministry of Ethics, Integrity and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of National and Foreign Affairs.
The campaign aims to create a safe and respectful environment, free from sexual harassment and violence. Gulu University has already taken a proactive step by launching its anti-sexual harassment policy, which provides a framework for detecting, preventing, and addressing cases of sexual harassment.
The event is expected to bring together students, staff, and stakeholders to raise awareness and promote a culture of zero tolerance towards sexual harassment. As part of the campaign, the university will provide support and resources for survivors of sexual harassment, ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable.
