Gabon’s Transitional President, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, will begin a three-day official visit to Uganda starting Thursday, according to Ugandan officials.
Nguema will meet Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to strengthen the relationship between Gabon and Uganda, said Henry Okello Oryem, Uganda’s Minister of State for International Affairs.
“This is his first official visit. It’s aimed at enhancing the relationship between our countries and exploring ways to improve our diplomatic ties,” Oryem stated.
The Ugandan Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Nguema will visit from August 1-3. Philip Ochen Odida, acting permanent secretary in the ministry, mentioned that Nguema is keen on learning about Uganda’s development and economic opportunities.
“We aim to use this visit to boost interactions between Uganda and Gabon, where there has been limited engagement,” Odida said.
