Dokolo Court and Uganda Revenue Authority Partner to Safeguard Citizens from Payment Errors, Making Tax Refunds Easy and Accessible Online for Everyone

The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) recently visited the Dokolo Chief Magistrate’s Court to strengthen their working relationship and enhance public services.

A key aim of this visit was to educate court users and staff about how to easily get tax refunds. This information is particularly valuable for anyone who might accidentally overpay during court processes or other government transactions.

URA officials, led by Henry Patrick Ariong, explained a crucial message: if you make an error and overpay, you will not lose your money. The URA has a simple online system to process refunds, meaning people don’t have to travel long distances or face hassle to get their money back.

The URA team also trained court employees on the online refund application process, trusting them to become a valuable resource for court users needing help with this service.

During their visit, URA representatives commended the Dokolo Court for its excellent service to the public. Chief Magistrate Vicent Muzeyi warmly received the initiative, confirming the court’s commitment to guiding individuals through correct legal and administrative steps. He highlighted that true justice goes beyond legal decisions, starting with making sure people are well-informed, supported, and empowered throughout their time interacting with the justice system.
