Kwania, Uganda – Aduku Senior Secondary School recently celebrated a significant milestone, as 160 students successfully completed a special month-long patriotism course. This important ceremony, held at the school, was graced by Isaac Mweru Hirya, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner for Kwania, highlighting the program’s official support.
Aduku SS has been a pioneer in this initiative, launching its patriotism program in 2023. Since then, an impressive total of over 700 students have gained valuable skills and understanding through the training. Daniel Isaac Olola, the school’s Patriotism Patron, proudly stated that the course instills crucial values like discipline, hard work, and a strong desire to serve the nation. This commitment has positioned Aduku SS as the top school in Kwania District for actively promoting patriotism clubs and activities.
The school’s Headteacher, Zeckonia Odama Ajjo, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing how the patriotism exercises have noticeably improved discipline among the more than 1,000 students at the school. He noted that young people have warmly embraced patriotism, recognizing it as a vital government effort to foster love for Uganda.
Assistant RDC Isaac Mweru Hirya encouraged the graduating students to take their patriotism seriously, describing it as a fundamental building block for their lives and for the nation. He stressed that the program teaches them to always put Uganda first.
Students like Barbara Ageno (S.4) and Hudson Okello (S.1), who were among the graduates, shared their positive experiences. They explained that the training has deeply taught them to love their country and to work hard. Both students pledged to maintain discipline and grow into responsible, good citizens in the years to come. This program is clearly shaping a new generation of dedicated Ugandans.
