A Brighter Future for Lango: Prime Minister Vows to Deliver Region’s Urgent Calls for Better Roads, Water, a Grand Palace, and Modern Airport Directly to the President’s Desk

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has made a firm promise to the people of Lango: their most pressing development challenges will be personally brought to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. This assurance came during a recent gathering where the Prime Minister represented the President, signaling a strong commitment from the government to uplift the Lango sub-region.

The core concerns that Prime Minister Nabbanja pledged to champion include improving the local road network, tackling persistent drought issues, completing the Akii-Bua Stadium, developing the Anai International Airport, and finally constructing the long-awaited Lango Cultural Palace.

Regarding the palace, there has been a significant setback. The initial contractor was found to be a fraudulent company, leading to the cancellation of their contract and an order to return a substantial sum of money. To ensure the palace is built properly, the reliable UPDF Engineering Brigade will now take over the construction.

Minister Sam Engola, whose thanksgiving ceremony was the setting for these important announcements, expressed deep gratitude to President Museveni for his appointment. He emphasized that this decision shows the President recognizes Lango’s loyalty and contributions to Uganda’s progress. Minister Engola urged all local leaders and citizens to set aside political differences and unite in the fight against poverty. He encouraged everyone to actively participate in government programs designed to create wealth, such as the Parish Development Model, Emyooga, and Operation Wealth Creation, highlighting these as key pathways to prosperity for the region.
