The Inspectorate of Government has officially apprehended her following disturbing revelations that she allegedly climbed the career ladder using a foundation of lies and fabricated documents.
Investigation reports paint a picture of a calculated move to bypass the rules of fair recruitment. In May 2024, Ms. Mega applied for her current senior role, presenting a portfolio that appeared to satisfy the rigorous demands of the position. Central to her application was a letter of appointment dated February 3, 2020, which she claimed was issued by the Itek-Okille Farmers Cooperative Society. This document was meant to serve as vital proof of her professional experience, a key requirement for anyone entrusted with such significant public responsibilities.
However, the truth eventually surfaced, exposing a betrayal of the public trust. When investigators reached out to the leadership of the Itek-Okille Farmers Cooperative Society, the response was definitive and damaging. The organization completely disowned the letter, stating unequivocally that Ms. Mega had never been in their employment. What was presented as a badge of experience was revealed to be a blatant forgery, a deceptive tool used to snatch a job that should have gone to an honest and qualified professional.
The legal consequences for such actions are severe. Under Section 328 of the Penal Code Act, presenting false documents with fraudulent intent is a serious criminal offense, carrying the same weight and punishment as the act of forgery itself. Following her arrest and the recording of her statement at the Inspectorate of Government Lira Regional Office, Ms. Mega is now scheduled to face the law. Her court appearance in Apac District is currently slated for May 26, 2026.
