Journalism students from All Saints University Lango recently completed an important study visit at LivingStone International University in Budaka. This trip was designed to significantly enhance their practical media abilities and prepare them for successful, ethical careers in professional journalism.
During the visit, Professor Dr. Henri Buregea, Chancellor of LivingStone International University, delivered a powerful message to these aspiring journalists. He urged them to always prioritize truth, professionalism, and ethical reporting throughout their careers.
Buregea emphasized that journalism holds immense power to shape communities and influence public opinion. He passionately called on students to wield this profession with great responsibility. He even mentioned how personal encounters with misinformation once inspired him to study communication, highlighting the critical need for accurate reporting. He strongly cautioned against the dangerous practice of accepting money to spread false information, explaining that such actions destroy a journalist’s personal credibility and erode public trust in the media.
Looking ahead, the Chancellor also announced strengthened collaboration between LivingStone International University and All Saints University Lango. These academic exchange programs will allow students from both institutions to broaden their learning experiences and gain wider exposure.
