Alebtong’s Assistant District Commissioner, Jimmy Okello, recently expressed high praise for President Yoweri Museveni. Okello specifically commended the President for organizing a thanksgiving ceremony after his victory in the 2026–2031 general elections.
Commissioner Okello highlighted that the President’s decision to return and personally thank the community demonstrates great humility, a strong sense of humanity, and deep respect for the voters who entrusted him with leadership. He emphasized that this kind of action truly shows powerful leadership, confirming President Museveni as a leader focused on his people and a capable commander who values public support.
Furthermore, Okello applauded President Museveni’s continuous efforts to fight poverty across the nation. He pointed to various government initiatives designed to create wealth, such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), the Youth Livelihood Programme, Emyooga, and cattle compensation schemes. According to Okello, these programs are significantly helping communities improve their household incomes and reduce poverty levels throughout the country. He encouraged all residents of Alebtong District and the surrounding areas to make full use of these government programs to achieve the shared goal of wealth creation and lasting development.
Commissioner Okello also recognized Hon. Denis Hanson Obua, who serves as the NRM Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda and the Government Chief Whip. Obua was praised for his ongoing support to the ruling party and his important role in mobilizing the community for the President’s visit. Okello noted that the successful organization of the thanksgiving ceremony was a result of strong teamwork and dedication from both party leaders and government officials. The event brought together leaders, party supporters, and community members to celebrate President Museveni’s electoral success and his continued leadership.
