Transforming Every Home into a Hub of Prosperity: President Museveni Unveils a Comprehensive Five Point Blueprint for Wealth and Issues a Final Warning to Corruptionists Sabotaging the Parish Development Model at the Lango Victory Thanksgiving Celebration

During a landmark victory thanksgiving event held at Lango College, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni articulated a bold and visionary five-point roadmap designed to accelerate the creation of wealth within every Ugandan household. With a clear focus on moving beyond mere rhetoric, the President called for a focused transformation that directly impacts the lives of ordinary citizens, grounding his strategy in the essential foundation of national unity which he views as a divine prerequisite for lasting progress.

At the heart of this economic revolution is the Parish Development Model, a program that has now entered its fifth year of implementation. With each parish already equipped with 500 million shillings, the President sent a definitive message to leaders across the country: the era of generalities is over. He demanded that local authorities identify and empower specific beneficiaries to ensure that every eligible family feels the weight of government support in their pockets. However, this message of hope came with an iron-clad warning. President Museveni declared that anyone caught mismanaging or siphoning funds meant for the people would face the full force of the law, suggesting that their next home could be the cells of Luzira Prison. He was adamant that not a single cent should be deducted from the allocations intended for the grassroots.

The President’s master plan for economic liberation rests on five strategic pillars. First is the meticulous execution of the Parish Development Model. Second is the distribution of high-quality agricultural inputs, specifically coffee and fruit seedlings, to stimulate commercial farming. Third is a robust restocking initiative aimed at rebuilding livestock numbers in regions like Northern Uganda. Fourth is the construction of durable, all-weather roads to bridge the gap between farms and markets. Finally, the plan is anchored by a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption that ensures public resources reach their intended destination.

To lead by example, the President announced that his own land in Bar-Alegi would be used for the multiplication of coffee and fruit seedlings, which will then be distributed to farmers at no cost. This initiative, combined with the continued success of the Emyooga program, is designed to turn the Lango subregion and the nation at large into an agricultural powerhouse. Museveni emphasized that as household incomes rise, the government’s ability to provide high-quality education, healthcare, and infrastructure like electricity and water will become exponentially easier. He also pointed toward the vast opportunities within the East African Community, urging Ugandans to look at the regional market as a hungry consumer base for their products.

The event also served as a moment of deep political reflection. Government Chief Whip Denis Hamson Obua noted that the Lango subregion has undergone a monumental shift in its political identity. The region delivered a staggering 84.48 percent of the vote to the President in the recent 2026 election, a historic peak that reflects decades of growing trust in the National Resistance Movement. This trajectory of support, which started at just 17 percent in 1996, serves as a testament to the peace and development that have taken root in the north. Obua also took the opportunity to present a regional development framework and advocate for further support for accident victims, ensuring that the spirit of the thanksgiving was matched by a commitment to the well-being of the most vulnerable members of society. Overall, the gathering was more than a celebration; it was a reaffirmation of a national covenant to banish poverty through hard work, integrity, and visionary leadership.
