Speaking at a mobilisation rally in Agwata Town Council, Joseph Jones Ogwal Omara promised to work hand in hand with local councillors to create a special emergency fund for areas that frequently experience flooding. He said this fund would be formally approved by both the district council and Parliament.
Ogwal also assured residents that people affected by floods would receive faster assistance. He explained that this would be achieved by activating a local disaster committee, securing emergency money at both sub-county and district levels, and working with government bodies to ensure proper support after disasters.
“Our people should no longer face the same suffering every rainy season. We need a clear budget and a long-term plan. I will work with councillors to make sure this fund is approved at both district and national levels, and that relief reaches those who need it most,” Ogwal said.
He also encouraged voters to evaluate all candidates properly and avoid those who seek votes yet failed to perform in their previous roles.
Meanwhile, Dokolo District Woman MP NRM flagbearer Janet Rose Adongo Elau said health services remain a key part of her campaign. She stated that she would push for upgrades of health centres across the district to improve service delivery.
NRM candidates have recently gained more visibility and support, with many residents praising the party’s organisation and message.
Several elders, including Nelson Owodo, Benard Etin, and Jaspher Angulu from Kachung Eastern, Central, and Western Wards, openly voiced their confidence in Ogwal, Adongo, and LCV Chairperson hopeful James Otto Apili. They described them as leaders with clear and transformative plans for the district.
The elders pledged to support them fully in the 2026 general elections.
During the Agwata rally, voters from different groups—youth, women, men, and the elderly—declared united support for the NRM ticket “from top to bottom.”
Those endorsed include Ogwal Jones Omara for MP Dokolo North, Janet Rose Adongo Elau for Woman MP, and James Otto Apili for District Chairperson.
The strong display of unity shows rising momentum for the ruling party in Dokolo as the 2026 elections approach.
