ONGOM PLEDGES TO PROMOTE RECREATION AND CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS AMONG YOUTH OF LIRA CITY EAST IF ELECTED IN THE FORTH COMING ELECTION

– As aspiring Male Youth Councillor for Lira City East Division, Ongom opts to advocate for Arts and Cultural Programs.He said that emphasizing arts and cultural programs in learning institutions from primary, secondary, and higher institutions of learning most of which are city based education centres, he cited Lira university,All Saint’s University-Lango(ASUL),Uganda Matyrs University-Ngetta(UMU), Other Tertiary institutions such as Jerusalem school of nursing and midwifery, Good Samaritan school of Nursing and midwifery, UCI, and other affiliated institutions in Lira City which are having what we called Cultural Galla competition nearly held every academic year, or atleast at secondary and primary levels . Ongom assured that this can be done through emphasising District competitions for Music Dance and Drama. Another alternative activity Ongom assured would be possible is Sports development initiatives mostly during vital moments such as Easter,and at least Christmas periods interms of Christmas Cup tournaments,among others. He criticised the ill intentions upon the misused funds allocated for Youth sports interms of Sports Galla that’s budgeted for at the City Divisions. Ongom also emphasised accountability based leadership for steady progress!
– Above all Lira City East Division needs a leader with social connections and exposure! This enables lobbying supports for Youth-Led Creative Projects in line with Governmental and Non Governmental programmes, this is through offering soft loans with low interest rates ,a good example is youth participation or involvement in government programs like, youth livelihood, Parish Development Model(PDM),among others.
– Here we look forward to building a united prosperous peaceful democratic and self reliant Youth-free society of Lira City East Division.
