Bob expressed his concerns on the rights of workers through protecting them from Violence and exploitation. Obwor bob opts to promote respect for human rights, including workers’ rights, gender rights, and children’s rights and so many others. According to statistics,he said about 70% of the workers especially young people are working in private sectors some of which are victims of exploitation interms of delayed or no payment completely, sexual harassment at work places,over working and other unfair terms and conditions of work ! In addition to that ,most of the them are employed informally i.e no employment agreement such as Appointment Letters,and payments modes ,of which they stands a high risk of job insecurity.
“This matter needs to be addressed, How? However at the Council ,strict laws needs to be ammended to ensure there’s strict supervision of work places at different sectors of Education, Finance, Transport, Health and other sectors offering employment opportunities,above all different sectors to ensure that Appointment letters are issued to the workers to promote job security.”Said Obwor
He thank the offices that advocates for the rights of people, a case like the Labour Office, and other law enforcing offices for the great work they’re doing.
