Like a Baobab bold in the heart of the plain,
He stands through the sunshine, the wind, and the rain.
Deep are his roots in our rich mother land,
Holding the soil with a wise steady hand.
He built us the roads like veins in the clay,
That carry our dreams to the cities each day.
In shade of his branches, the children all learn,
For schools are the fruits that his labours return.
When darkness of war cast its shadow and fear,
He rose like the dawn, saying “Peace now is here.”
He tamed the wild storm with the calm of the sage,
And wrote stability’s name on our page.
Hospitals bloom where the desert was dry,
Healing the sick under Uganda’s sky.
Like rain on the millet, his kindness has grown,
Jobs for the youth from the seeds he has sown.
When plague like coronavirus came haunting our breath,
He fenced us from sickness, he guarded from death.
He guided the nation through night without rest,
Like a shepherd who carries the lamb on his chest.
Our economy rises, the harvest is fair,
The Baobab’s shade stretches everywhere.
In proverb we say, “A tall tree feels wind’s roar,”
Yet he stands unshaken, more steadfast than before.
O Museveni, Baobab strong and supreme,
Your branches still reach to our highest dream.
Through seasons of trial your courage won light,
Through tempests of change, you guided us right.
The Pearl of Africa gleams in your care,
Its rivers run peace, its gardens grow fair.
Long may you stand, in the heart of our land,
Our Baobab King, with the sun in your hand.
