As the current academic calendar approaches its final chapters, a powerful voice in Lira City West is calling on the younger generation to recognize the immense value of their schooling. Honorable Tony Olipa, who serves as the NRM Chairperson for the Lira City West Division, has issued a heartfelt and stirring appeal to students, urging them to treat their education as the precious gift it truly is.
The core of his message is simple yet profound: education is the most reliable bridge to a prosperous life, but it requires a foundation of discipline and gratitude. With the school term wrapping up, Olipa pointed out that many parents go to extraordinary lengths, often sacrificing their own comfort and basic needs, to ensure their children have a seat in the classroom. He emphasized that every shilling spent on school fees represents hours of sweat and labor, and it is the moral duty of every learner to ensure that these resources are not wasted on distractions or laziness.
He challenged the students to look beyond the immediate fun of the holidays and instead focus on the long-term rewards of academic excellence. By taking their studies seriously, learners are not just passing exams; they are building the skills necessary to lead their communities and transform their own lives. Olipa believes that when a student values their education, they are showing the highest form of respect to their family and securing a brighter, more stable future for the entire region.
As the bells ring for the end of the year, his message serves as a timely reminder for all youth in Lira. The opportunity to learn is a golden ticket that should never be taken for granted. Honorable Olipa’s call to action is a plea for students to return to their books with a renewed sense of purpose, ensuring that the heavy investments made by their parents result in the success and pride they so richly deserve.
