Pallisa, Uganda β The Member of Parliament for Pallisa County, Hon. Ibrahim Aisu, has sent a clear and urgent message to the government. He insists that while a brand new, very expensive bridge might seem impressive, it means very little if the everyday lives of people in the district are being held back by crumbling roads and failing health services.
MP Aisu believes that spending a massive 76.5 billion Ugandan Shillings on a bridge simply isn’t enough when fundamental services are broken. He argues, quite powerfully, that what good is a new bridge if people cannot drive on safe roads to reach a hospital that is actually equipped to help them when they are sick? He feels that such a large project misses the point entirely if the most basic needs of the community are ignored.
His plea is straightforward: the government must act now to fix the poor road network across Pallisa and make sure that health centers are working properly and can provide the care people desperately need. For the residents of Pallisa, having decent roads and functioning hospitals is far more important and impactful than any single large construction project. These essential services must be the top priority.
