A New Era of Excellence and Integrity Begins as Adeknino Seed Secondary School Commissions Visionary Student Leaders to Shape the Future for the 2026 to 2027 Academic Year

In a vibrant display of democratic transition and youthful promise, Adeknino Seed Secondary School in Dokolo District recently celebrated the official inauguration of its student governing body for the 2026 to 2027 academic cycle. This significant event, held this past Thursday on the school grounds, served as a powerful reminder of the institution’s dedication to molding the next generation of Ugandan trail-blazers.

The atmosphere was filled with a sense of purpose as outgoing student officials formally handed over their responsibilities to a fresh group of ambitious peers. In a historic moment for the school, Omara Gerald stepped into the prestigious role of Head Prefect, taking over the mantle from Acura Joshua. Simultaneously, the responsibility of Head Girl was passed from Apio Racheal to Amolo Salume. The transition also saw Moro Isaac, the outgoing President of the Uganda National Students Association (UNSA), transfer his authority to the newly elected student council.

During the ceremony, Headteacher Susan Kia spoke passionately about the school’s mission. She emphasized that Adeknino Seed Secondary School is more than just a place of academic learning; it is a training ground where every student is given an equal platform to discover and sharpen their leadership skills. She issued a heartfelt charge to the new officers, urging them to lead with a spirit of humility and a deep sense of responsibility. She reminded them that leadership is a privilege, not a tool for intimidation, and warned against any abuse of the trust their fellow students have placed in them.

Adding a spiritual dimension to the proceedings, Reverend James Opio Ojok of Apewoneki Parish provided profound guidance on the nature of authority. He encouraged the young leaders to embrace the philosophy of servant leadership. According to the Reverend, the most impactful leaders are those who put the needs of others before their own, noting that such selfless service is the surest path to earning both respect and divine favor.

The guest of honor, Board Chairperson George Otim Toli, used the occasion to deliver a stern but encouraging message regarding the future of the youth. He challenged the entire student body to remain fiercely committed to their education, highlighting that academic success is the key to unlocking a bright future. He spoke candidly about the social challenges facing the district, particularly urging young girls to guard themselves against early pregnancies, which he identified as a primary reason for school dropouts. His message was clear: stay focused, stay in school, and protect your potential at all costs.

The day concluded with a unified call for the newly sworn-in leaders to act as the vanguard of discipline and unity. By prioritizing academic brilliance and fostering a harmonious school environment, these new student representatives are expected to set a high standard for excellence throughout their entire term of office. This transition marks not just a change in personnel, but a renewed commitment to the values that define Adeknino Seed Secondary School.
